Duality

Beauty is an idea which cannot exist in a thing;

Only those who imagine beauty can know ugliness.

Good cannot be held in your hand;

Those who imagine that it can, also hold evil in their hands.

Ideas confused with things are worthless;

Things confused with ideas are priceless.

The illusion of the moon in the water is done without doing.

The moon freely gives and the water freely receives.

The Sage nurtures without making claim;

The Sage controls without imposing.

The Sage does not call attention to what he achieves;

Thus, the Sage's achievements are not fleeting.
